Safe Washing

Ok, so all valeters and hand car washers are the same right?....Wrong. Most use traditional wash and dry techniques. We however, have moved on. We use the same procedures and techniques as the world's best and most expensive car detailers. While traditional washing and drying techniques would be fine for people who just want a clean car, these techniques can, and do inflict damage which will prematurely age the look of your car.

How we differ...

Pre spray to lower parts of the car.

We do not use caustic traffic film removers which can fade plastics and dull paintwork over time. Depending on the extent of the soiling we have a range of safe non caustic products to choose from. This is then power washed off.

And / or foam soak.

A mild foam is now applied to the entire car and allowed to soak and gently lift any dirt and grit away from the paint. This is then power washed off. Note. We have not yet laid a hand on your paintwork.

Two bucket wash.

By this time all dirt and grit should have been rinsed away, but just in case, we wash the car with a deep pile wool wash mitt which will draw any particles away from the paint and will not drag dirt across the paint like sponges do. The mitt is rinsed in a separate bucket of clean water after washing an area of your car, and then back into the shampoo bucket before washing the next area. This ensures that only a clean wash mitt and clean shampoo solution is used on your car. The car is then power washed off.

Drying.

You have probably guessed, we do not use chamois leathers and certainly don't use drying blades. Instead we use large microfibre drying towels which are a lot kinder to your paint and dry the car much better.

The CD test.

All of our wash mitts, drying towels, wax/sealant applicators, buffing cloths and any thing else we may use on your paint will have passed the CD test. The CD test is basically testing if any of the above can scratch a blank CD when rubbed on it's soft face. If it can then it has no place being near your paint.
