Honda CRV Seats

Postby Superior Valeting » Thu Mar 20, 2014 5:12 pm

I 'm after some help regarding CRV seats which I clean a lot for a car dealer, when they come in and are really dirty I give them a good scrub with a brush and a wet vac but when they dry it leaves white marks on them which can only be described as looking like salt stains. I have tried different products from Autosmart and Autoglym but I still get the same problem even his previous valeter struggled with this.
Have any of you guys or girls come across this issue and any suggestions on other products I can try?.

It can be on the seat backs or base when they are wet they look perfect its only when they dry that you get patches that look like salt stains!

Hmmmm, intriguing one.

Not seen this issue before, although no experience of that particular vehicle interior. As Dennis Kenobi suggests would be a good first call.

I have the an online supplier Carpet Shampoo Extra. If you want some to try, let me know

I think this could be down to the chemical your using. Maybe water it down more or try a different interior cleaner/APC.

I did have this problem years ago. I was using a power that was mixed with water (Karcher powder) although it cleaned well, it did occasionally leave white tide marks around the edges.

Hope this helps :-)

Are you spot cleaning on dry seats before you clean the rest?

Thanks for the replies and the kind offer Chris, not spot cleaning as the whole seat pad and base can be really dirty as all these cars come from dealer auction sites and as you
can imagine some of them aren't very nice!
Got three to do this week two with leather, one cloth so I will let you know how I get on.

Done the cloth CRV yesterday but this time I used APC and scrubbed it using a brush and wet vac it using hot water as suggested, the seats were really dirty, so waited till this morning to see the results!
They didn't look too bad, seemed better than before so I will do some more tests using this method and see how I get on.
Thanks again everyone for your suggestions and help.
