Trim Dressing Comparison Test - Anglewax Vs Chemical Guys

Postby LC Auto Clean » Wed Nov 12, 2014 9:49 pm

Hello all,

Anglewax Corona Vs Chemical Guys New Look Trim Dressing.

The test is being carried out on my Volkswagen Caddy Rear bumper. Bumper was cleaned with some APC to make sure it was clean and contamination free

Will be seeing which one water beads best, gives the best finish and how long it lasts.

Straight away as you can see in the pictures CG New Look Trim Dressing leaves a shinier finish which I quite like. Being a thick gel it's a bit harder to apply than Corona which is very easy to apply via a applicator pad or microfibre.

Will update this thread with how the products are doing

Hello all,

Well after 1 night of light rain CG New Look Trim Dressing isn't doing well compared to Anglewax Corona, it's begun to run leaving an oily looking residue. Corona hasn't run at at all and is beading nicely!

Ooo that's looking quite poor... I didn't expect it to fail that quickly.

Neither did I to be honest! Was quite shocked epically as I applied it thinly. If I had whacked loads on I could understand it. Shame because I love the finish of it.

I tried ti22 on plastic (discovered that purely by mistake) and that came up brilliantly and kept up pretty well but i think i may try using carpro perl and then apply ti22 on top try a few experiments :)

The angelwax product, it is the one like Concept Vista?

Assuming so, the results are probably to be expected. I have tinkered away with this type of product and there is no doubt that durability is massively superior to silicone dressings (such as the CG) but, in my experience, there is the trade off that it is more fussy to work with. Can I ask, is Corona or Vista suitable for rubber (i.e. tyres)?

Since I've used that method with corona only. It looks good for an hour or so but the dressed section soon goes back to looking like a non dressed tyre.

I believe Vista is a lacquer type product if that makes any sense PIP.

Mr pip vista is like a crystal or quartz based dressing i think , corona is one of those aio multipurpose dressings i guess as its a wax and/or plastic dressing if that helps in any way ...

I've only tried Corona on tyres once, and found like Dave did. If you want an in your face finish, Corona isn't for you. It does a nice job on rubber trim too, window rubbers etc.
